Filipino Christian Bloggers that Make Jesus Viral

Bible, Laptop, Flatlay

I started blogging 3 years ago but that time there’s not a lot of Filipino Christian pages that I know of except of course ‘the’ Joena San Diego. Last year, we’ve seen a boost in the Christian community online. Many Filipino Christian bloggers are rising up to make Jesus viral.

Below are a few of my favorite Filipino Christian bloggers you can follow and learn deep biblical truths:

5 Filipino Christian Bloggers who make Jesus viral whom you should follow

Ang Kristyanong Kabataan

Ang Kristyanong Kabataan, Featured Filipino Christian Blogger on Angelittle's site by Angelita Chua

AKB envisions using social media as a medium to spread the gospel. This Christian blog has been sharing witty truths, biblical memes, and news updates to an audience of 57,000 Followers as of writing.

I’ve had the chance of having coffee with Mj Espinosa, Page Owner. “In everything we do, let’s be missional,” I carry his words to this day.

Kristyanime

Kristyanime, Featured Filipino Christian Blogger on Angelittle's site by Angelita Chua

I found Kristyanime when one of his viral posts dropped on my News Feed. His style is so cool. He creates ‘animated’ graphics and videos or what us Batang 90s would call “anime”. He shares bible study concepts, devotionals, and other bible-based truths on his page through his creatively designed animes.

Pinoy Devo

Pinoy Devo is a team of Filipino writers from all over the world. They are dedicated to giving Filipinos a free devotional and journaling experience; a supplement to those who desire to grow deeper in God’s word on a daily basis. They share devotional prompts, entries, and challenges that will help you get into the Word of God. (Plug: I am sharing my devotional entry with them this May!)

She Writes for Jesus

The next words were found on her website, which is a fitting description of the woman behind this Christian page:

Mariann Lopera of She Writes for Jesus, Featured Filipino Christian Blogger on Angelittle's site by Angelita Chua

The woman behind the page is simple really: She lives day by day trying her best to make her King smile. She did it in her small little ways, and then God stepped in. God promised her that He would use every piece of her– both broken and whole, for His glory. Now, she doesn’t desire anything else but to live the way she is living now: TO GLORIFY HER KING

Truly, a lot of us are inspired as she writes for Jesus.

Khan Santos

Khan Santos, Featured Filipino Christian Blogger on Angelittle's site by Angelita Chua

One afternoon I received a chat from a guy named Khan Santos telling me about the reverse poetry I wrote at Boiling Water’s site. I seriously do not know this guy. And being the introverted type that I am, I wondered a lot who this person might be.

Weeks later I saw his viral dubbed videos which won’t leave you not laughing; I have become a fan since. He’s also very generous about giving digital marketing insights, which makes this man a favorite of mine. Did I mention he’s a Mindanaoan, too? 🙂

His videos would awaken your bored, serious soul, but at the same time, they will enlighten you on profound bible-based values.

What to do when you don’t know what to do

“I feel so paralyzed,” I finally managed to utter words after crying ugly tears.

I remember I had this depressing experience when our family faced a major financial setback. I did not know what to do. And being the plan-freak that I am, I hated it when I did not even have a plan to get out of where I was. Have you been in that situation? Maybe you lost a loved one, failed in your subjects, lost all your money, or are about to make a huge decision.

Comfortingly, God led me to 2 Chronicles 20 about King Jehoshaphat’s story who was about to face a huge battle against surrounding tribes of Judah. He prayed the same prayer you and I pray: “God, we don’t know what to do…”

So I am sharing 3 things that King Jehu did when he did not know what to do which hopefully will help you:

WHAT KING JEHOSHAPHAT DID WHEN THEY DID NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO

1.   Pay attention to what God says

“Alarmed, Jeshoshaphat resolved to inquire of the Lord, and he proclaimed a fast for all Judah. The people of Judah came together to seek help from the LORD; indeed they came from every town in Judah to seek Him.” (verses 3-4)

Tribe Judah resolved to position itself to ask the Lord, to inquire of the Lord, to hear from the Lord. Judah chose to pay attention. Most of us resort to planning, but King Jehu depended on the Lord, not on plan A-Zs or any tactics their intellect could ever think of.

Like King Jehu, let us resolve to pay attention to the Lord – not to the bad news which can immobilize us – but to the Lord who can energize us.

2.   Pour out your brokenness

You will find a long prayer by the King in these verses but I would like to highlight the first two words in verse 6 :

“and said…” (v 6-11)

The King said a prayer, he poured out to the Lord. Sometimes when we do not know what to do, we also do not know what to pray, but in cases like that – just pour out. Go and be honest before God and tell him what makes your heart so heavy, release it all before the Lord.

God will take care of the solution, we just need to tell him about our situation.

Fast forward to verses 24-25, we can see that Judah ended up victors of a very impossible battle.

24 When the men of Judah came to the place that overlooks the desert and looked toward the vast army, they saw only dead bodies lying on the ground; no one had escaped. 25 So Jehoshaphat and his men went to carry off their plunder, and they found among them a great amount of equipment and clothing[d] and also articles of value—more than they could take away. There was so much plunder that it took three days to collect it.

So if you ever come to a point of not knowing what to do, remember King Jehoshaphat’s story and have your own kind of victory.

3. Press on nonetheless

17  “Go out and face them tomorrow and the Lord will be with you.. You will not have to fight.. See the deliverance of the Lord.” 20 “Early in the morning they left for the Desert of Tekoa…” (v 17-20)

The hardest thing to do in times of trying is to show up, right? But even if you do not know how to win your day’s battle, remember to press on and well, JUST. SHOW. UP. Press on so you can see God’s solution.

Imagine if the tribe of Judah hadn’t shown up when God told them to? Will God still fight for them? Will God work out salvation for them? I believe so. Because God is faithful and He will do as He promised. But, had they not pressed on, they will not see the deliverance of the LordThey would not have seen the LORD move. They will remain in fear for the rest of their lives, not knowing that God has already won the battle for them.

If you are at the point of your life where you don’t know what to do, quitting shouldn’t be your option. Don’t quit on your dreams, don’t quit on your purpose, don’t quit on hope and faith. Press on! God moves! God solves! God saves!

Celebrate Women with Skillful Hands

Celebrate Women!

Not only because it is women’s month (March) but I believe it is nothing but well-deserving to celebrate women because…

Women have made the world a better place!

celebrate womenWithout women, there’s less emotion, less art, less color, less hug, less flower, less delicious food, less poetry, less music, less beauty, and less of a lot more in the world. Imagine a world without our mothers – well, we would not even be here! Can you imagine a world without ladies who give us unsolicited touches when we’re down? That’s a sad way to face life’s inevitable tragedies. You would not want a life without a girl’s OC tendencies – believe me, you would have a ‘more chaotic’ ordinary days.

This is because women are called to make the world a better place – this is why we were created, to be a man’s ezer or “help”. Theologians say it means women are equipped with strength able to help others. Some people take it to “bully” women and make us look like we’re only born for laundry and giving birth, but only an unintelligent person would think that way. Women are made for more, we are made to stand alongside men and fulfill our own calling by helping them fulfill theirs!

And if that is not enough reason for you to celebrate the women in your life, catch this!

Jesus Celebrates Women!

Jesus loves every woman around him. Remember the woman who wiped the feet of Jesus with her tears? Remember the woman who Jesus defended against her accusers? How about the woman who Jesus had to meet in Samaria and have a little chitchat? Oh, you would not forget the woman with a flow of blood for 12 years that was healed by Jesus! If Jesus did not mind women, he would not have placed in his itinerary a schedule to uplift the women around him.

Proverbs 31:31News around the world tells us of how women get devalued, mistreated, and abused! It is time to change the headlines and start celebrating women instead. Every woman around you possesses a beauty that is timeless, and when you allow her to flourish within your hands – she’ll give you a life that is beyond your imagination. Well, that’s women. 😉

So, it’s time to honor the women around you:

Proverbs 31: 31 Honor her for all that her hands have done,
and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.

Celebrate Women with a Love that #NeverWithers

Because a woman’s beauty is ageless, she deserves something that also lasts! Give her a love that “never withers” with Skillful Hands Arts and Crafts  #NeverWitherFlowers!

They beautifully handcraft flowers made from a premium type of papers. I have received tons of it from my boyfriend, and I love them all! In fact, I am almost there to having a garden of paper flowers lol! Well, women love fresh flowers but as for our “practical side”, we prefer flowers that are handmade – especially if you do it for us.

But if you can’t, I have friends who can do it for you and charge a very minimal price. Skillful Hands team is based in Zamboanga City but their flowers have reached other parts of the Philippines and they can send it to your location in no time!

Love is not always fair, but it is always crazy.

Hey! I have been too caught up with my MBA degree requirements lately so I have not found any time to craft a post. But! Good thing I am surrounded by great writers, so I am sharing a poem by a friend which is so good and timely for Hearts Month! This is called “Crazy Love” by Lerous Reyaeus.

CRAZY LOVE

“Love is patient, love is kind.” Let me say something subtle many would not mind.

Love is crazy, Love is unfair.
For love was given much yet never given back, a lover is now in despair.
To love those who are unlovable?
They will never give love back but trouble.

I think that’s how love should be; crazy and unfair:
for love will be love even without reciprocation;
love will be love even without a returned portion;
Love is all about giving away;
that’s how it is in the right way.

Look above and give yourself a stare,
For we too are a product of love that is crazy and unfair.
He showed His loved at times we were unaware.
Once revealed, we exclaim-that this is far beyond compare.”

All seek love, many presume they know how to love, few are willing to love. And let this few show to all who seek Love how crazy and unfairly good this Love we’ve found is.

“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another:

just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.” -John 13:34

Are you a strong, God-dependent woman?

Heads up, Strong, God-dependent Women!

Today is a powerful age because no better time in history has the world witnessed an army of beautiful yet strong, empowered women than today.

Years ago, women are only good for house chores and giving birth. Darker age in history also tells us about women being abused and enslaved. I reckon that we are blessed to be breathing and walking on earth in such a time where women are celebrated.

We know of women making a name and changing the way the world rotates in the area ranging from Music to Cooking to Science to Politics to Missions and beyond. This is the best moment in history where women are no longer defined by the world – we have become strong and independent; women can now stand bold and brave on our own, able to make name for ourselves.

However, becoming too much independent also has a downside – it might take us too far away from the source of our strength as we trust and rely on our own instead. God’s word reminds us that “apart from the Lord, we are nothing.” (John 15:5)

So my dear strong woman, be not independent – instead be God-dependent.

But how do we become like one? Let’s study the life of 3 bible heroines armed with strength, beauty and, godliness.

3 qualities of a strong, God-dependent woman:

    1. She battles with purpose

    2. Just as what her uncle said, Queen Esther was born in such a time as hers – she was where she was for a great purpose. She became the next Queen- at a perfect time.
    3. One day a law was passed that will endanger all Israelites. And the only one who might change the history is Queen Esther. Back then, if a Queen will approach a King without being summoned, the Queen might be put to death for disrespect.
    4. With bravery and a strong grip on her purpose, Queen Esther approached the King and requested for Israelites’ safety.  Only a woman convinced of her purpose will risk her life to do what she was called to do. Only a strong, God-dependent woman can do that. [bctt tweet=”Only a woman convinced of her purpose will risk her life to do what she was called to do. ” username=”angelittleco”] (continue to page 2)

To do ministry is to die empty

To do ministry is to die empty

“Don’t die old, die empty. That’s the goal of life.

Go to the cemetery and disappoint the graveyard.” – Myles Munroe

It is said that the richest place on earth is the cemetery because of the many untapped, buried treasures and talents. As Christians, we could not allow a life that is reserved.

Ministry Life is a life that has no reservation.

Philippians 2:6 Though he was God,[a]
he did not think of equality with God
as something to cling to.
7 Instead, he gave up his divine privileges[b];
he took the humble position of a slave[c]
and was born as a human being.
When he appeared in human form,[d]
8 he humbled himself in obedience to God
and died a criminal’s death on a cross.

The part that says “he took the humble position of a slave” or in NIV “he emptied himself” the word “empty” there is “kenosis” meaning to pour out everything until it is gone.

Jesus’ ministry life showed us how ministry should be defined – it is about reserving nothing. It is about reserving nothing of us – our talents, our potential, our abilities, our love – giving it all up, pouring it out until there’s nothing more we could ever give.

Jesus did not stop at some level – when he came down from heaven and became a poor carpenter’s son, he did not say he had enough then.

When he was bullied and laughed at, he did not end his ministry then.

After he had healed many, raised the dead, or make the blind see – he did not stop just because he already performed something.

Even when he cried at Gethsemane, was tried and was carrying the cross- he did not stop because he already contributed something to God’s cause.

Jesus continued and finished his ministry and reserved nothing until there’s nothing more he could give

– he died a criminal’s death on the cross.

I believe that we reach our maximum potential of praise only when we reach heaven, and so until we get there-there is always something more we could give to God.

I hope that as you read this, you will make a decision to sleep at night knowing that you have emptied yourself for the day, nothing has been reserved for the glory of God, and wake up the next day with your goal to give God your all.

May it be that if we die and return home to God someday, we will not leave behind untapped potential, unused talent, unutilized anointing, and wasted resources because we will die exhausted, everything is already given for the glory of God; we will die empty.

Let’s pursue a godly-ever-after love story

Why we should give up our idea of “perfect” and pursue godliness instead.

Growing up with Cinderella and Snow White, I have always dreamt of a fairy-tale-like love story. I wanted to have an oh-so-handsome and brave knight-in-shining-armor who will always save me and would never dare to hurt me. A perfect love story.

However, at age 13 I liked someone which lasted for 8 years (one-sided, yes) and ended up getting bruises and scars. I started to witness break-ups and marriages getting shattered around me. Love is becoming different from what I saw on TV. Cinderella and Snow White told me that love stories should be pleasing, perfect and fun.

Should I give up on love? Or is it my idea of “perfect” that I should give up?

Love is beautiful and powerful and it will be the last one standing. Faith and hope will fade, but love will last forever. So don’t give up on love.

So maybe what we should be giving up is our ideas of a love story that is “perfect” and instead start to pursue something biblical, real, and godly. Maybe what we should have been rooting for is not a happily-ever-after but a godly-ever-after love story.

That though there would be struggles, fights, and dissonance – we will not give it up that easily because what we want is not perfection but godliness.

So how do we picture a godly-ever-after?

1.   It is a God-written story.

It has a nice plot – a story at the right time with the right person at the right way. It did not just happen suddenly but it has been coupled with prayers and good counsel.

2.   It gives God glory

Your relationship is not about feeding each other’s needs or longings but instead, it is for a righteous cause. It guides the youth. It reflects God’s righteousness. It glorifies Him.

3.   It honors God’s purity

Loving and doing relationship [outside marriage] the Christian way is unlike what is common – kissing, sleeping together, sex. This is not a flaunt of hypocrisy but rather a declaration of dependence on the grace of God. To fight for purity and protect the blessing of marriage – pure sex.

P.S. I told you about my one-sided high school love; that person is now my boyfriend!

Our #relationshipgoal is to give God the glory thru our love story 🙂
